New Franchise For Solid State Supplies adds More Communications Solutions

Solid State Supplies have added PROFIBUS and PROFINET components to their widening range of communications components, following their appointment as exclusive UK and Ireland distributors for French manufacturer AGILiCOM.

Under the AGILiPLUG name, Solid State can offer the PROFIBUS module which transforms traditional serial equipment into a PROFIBUS slave. Easily integrated, the use of this low cost solution dramatically shortens development time.

No specific configuration tools are required and the device is configurable for any serial protocol.  AGILiPLUG has a serial data rate configurable up to 57600 baud in TTL.  It can transfer up to 244 input and output bytes on the PROFIBUS side.

The second in the range, the AGILiPLUG PROFINET, turns equipment into an IO device in many different ways such as local I/O mode, Intelligent MODBUS master or slave gateway or as a transparent gateway for any serial protocol.

Simply plugged into board, the AGILiPLUG provides instant PROFINET connectivity with all parameters made without the need for specific software. The device provides 100Mbits/s fast Ethernet transmission, up to 1400 input and output bytes, user specific parameters and alarms and 8 configurable local I/Os without the need for a specific configuration tool.

Up to 48 digital I/Os are available via synchronous serial link.  The asynchronous serial link can be used up to 115200 bits/s as an Intelligent MODBUS master/slave mode for PROFINET bandwidth optimisation or in a transparent mode for any serial protocol.
